Properties: White cubic crystals or powder. Relative density 1.8 (25/4°C). Begins to lose crystal water when heated to 100°C, decomposes into barium carbonate and barium oxide upon calcination. Slightly soluble in water and acetic acid, soluble in other inorganic acids.
