DMP-30
Chemical Name: 2,4,6-Tris(dimethylaminomethyl)phenol
English Name: Tris(dimethylaminomethyl)phenol
Molecular Formula: C??H??N?O
Molecular Weight: 265.40
CAS Number: 90-72-2
Properties and Applications:
I. Application in Epoxy Resins
DMP-30 can be used alone as an epoxy resin curing agent. For bisphenol A epoxy resins with an epoxy equivalent of 185–195, the recommended dosage is 10%. When used as an accelerator, the dosage ranges from 0.1% to 3%.
In epoxy resin-liquid polysulfide systems, the dosage for room-temperature curing is 10%–15%, while for heat curing, it is 6%. DMP-30 imparts unique properties to the system, making it suitable for adhesives, casting, and sealing materials.
II. Application in Polyurethanes
DMP-30 serves as a catalyst for the trimerization of isocyanates. It exhibits higher catalytic selectivity for polyisocyanurate (PIR) reactions compared to polyurethane (PUR) reactions, making it commonly used in formulations involving isocyanurate reactions.
As a moderately active catalyst, DMP-30 is used in larger quantities in formulations. It ensures mild reactions, steady rise, and good flowability. The resulting products exhibit PIR characteristics such as high-temperature resistance and flame retardancy, making it suitable for formulating composite materials.
