Plastic flower ring packing is a type of packing introduced by A.J. Teller of the United States in 1954, commonly referred to as Teller packing in China. It is constructed from numerous interconnected rings and has now become a serialized product with three models. The main characteristics of this packing include high void fraction, resistance to clogging, large throughput, and low resistance. Due to its ability to retain a significant amount of liquid in its interstices, it prolongs the residence time of liquid within the column, thereby increasing gas-liquid contact time and improving mass transfer efficiency. As a result, the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry was the first to research and introduce this plastic flower ring packing from an American packing company, designating it as a specialized and promoted packing for the metallurgical industry.
