1. Overview
The ZYM/PW fully automatic mobile modular drinking water treatment unit is a new series product developed by our company, with water purification capacities of 10, 20, 50, 100, 150, and 200 tons/hour, among other models. This series of water purification units integrates the essence of processes such as flocculation, sedimentation, sludge discharge, backwashing, water collection, filtration, and disinfection. It achieves fully automatic operation without the need for manual intervention, making it an important unit for automated management and a fully functional water purification station. This unit is not only widely applicable and effective in treatment, with excellent effluent quality, but also features low self-consumption of water, reduced power consumption, small footprint, and savings in water, electricity, and labor. It is a new energy-saving product that eliminates the need for auxiliary pumps and facilities.
2. Scope of Application
Suitable for water plants in towns and industrial enterprises using various rivers, lakes, reservoirs, etc., with water turbidity less than 1000 mg/L as the water source, serving as the main water purification treatment unit;
Suitable for decentralized drinking water treatment in rural areas;
Has special adaptability to lake water sources with low temperature, low turbidity, and seasonal algae;
Acts as a pretreatment device for high-purity water, industrial water for beverages, boiler water, etc.;
Used in circulating water systems in the metallurgical industry to effectively and significantly improve the quality of recycled water;

Fully automatic operation, easy operation and maintenance, requiring only periodic water quality monitoring by on-duty personnel;

4. Working Principle
4.1. Flocculation
After uniformly adding flocculant to the raw water in the mixer, it enters the perforated swirling flocculation tank in the flocculation zone of the modular sedimentation-filtration unit. The water flows tangentially along the tank wall, forming a swirl in the perforated swirling flocculation tank composed of multiple compartments. The flocculant quickly and uniformly mixes with the water to form flocs. Functional flocculants can be selectively used based on specific needs and water quality.
4.2. Sedimentation
Utilizing the inclined tube sedimentation process, water enters the inclined tube sedimentation tank from the bottom and flows downward. Impurity particles settle at the bottom of the numerous inclined tubes and slide down freely along the tubes. Clear water is collected at the top of the tank by a collection trough and flows into the filtration tank. Sludge is collected at the bottom of the sedimentation tank by perforated sludge discharge pipes and periodically discharged into the sludge thickening tank. This process features a small footprint and high sedimentation efficiency.
4.3. Filtration
The filtration process employs a rapid filtration method with a dual-layer filter media. Water entering the filtration tank passes through a dual-layer of anthracite and quartz sand filter media, where impurities are trapped. When the head loss in the filtration zone reaches a certain level, the control system automatically activates the backwashing system to clean the filter media. The trapped contaminants are flushed out of the filter tank by the backwash water. Different functional and specification filter media can be selected based on water quality and effluent requirements.
4.4. Disinfection
Ultraviolet disinfection technology uses C-band ultraviolet light (also known as short-wave ultraviolet, wavelength 200–280 nm, with a central radiation wavelength of 253.7 nm) to destroy the DNA structure of various viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens, preventing their reproduction and achieving pathogen removal.
