Automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) represent a new concept in logistics warehousing. Utilizing three-dimensional warehouse equipment enables rationalized high-level storage, automated access, and simplified operations. Automated storage and retrieval systems are currently one of the most advanced forms of technology in this field. The main components of an automated storage and retrieval system include racks, aisle-type stacker cranes, inbound/outbound workstations, and automated conveyance systems (WCS + WMS). The racks are structures made of steel or reinforced concrete, with standardized storage spaces inside. The stacker cranes travel through the aisles between the racks to perform storage and retrieval tasks.
