Huangtengsu, also known as Huangtengsu, is extracted and refined from the dried vine stems of the Huangteng plant in the Menispermaceae family. It appears as a yellow crystalline powder, odorless, and extremely bitter in taste. It is prone to deterioration when exposed to light and requires storage in a light-proof, sealed container. It is highly soluble in hot water, slightly soluble in cold water and ethanol, with its main components being alkaloid compounds.
