Function and Use:
Excellent solvent, used as metal surface treatment agent, cleaner before electroplating and painting, metal degreasing agent, and extractant for fats, oils, and waxes. Used in organic synthesis and pesticide production. Trichloroethylene is used to produce tetrachloroethylene as an anthelmintic; used to produce hexachloroethane as a veterinary anthelmintic for the prevention and treatment of liver fluke and stomach fluke diseases in ruminants, clonorchiasis, and nematodiasis.
