The float is vertically installed in the tapered measuring tube. Due to the action of the fluid, it can move freely up and down within the tapered tube. The annular area formed between the outer edge diameter of the float and the tapered tube varies with the position of the float. When the fluid flow stabilizes at a certain value, the float reaches a dynamic equilibrium at a specific position, and the annular area between the float and the tapered tube remains constant. At this point, the float is subjected to three forces: the downward weight of the float, the upward buoyant force, and the dynamic force of the fluid. These three forces achieve balance. According to Bernoulli's equation in fluid dynamics, the force balance equation, and the continuity theorem of fluid, the average instantaneous flow rate of the fluid passing through the annular area can be calculated.
