Properties and Uses
Glyceryl mono and distearate is the most widely used and largest consumption additive and emulsifier in the oil chemical and daily chemical industries. Its hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB value) is 3.6-4.2, making it oil-soluble. In addition to its emulsifying effect, it also has defoaming, anti-aging, and fat agglomeration control functions. It is a typical non-ionic surfactant.
Monoglyceride is a slightly yellow waxy solid that is insoluble in water. It is used as an emulsifier and surfactant in food and cosmetics, and as a lubricant in polyvinyl chloride transparent pellets.
